Local sources in Kandahar province say a 26-year-old man named Masoom has been stabbed to death by unknown individuals.
According to Hasht-e Subh Daily, the incident took place in a village in the Spin Boldak district. Sources said on Thursday, November 4, that someone called Masoom and asked him to come out of his house.
The report adds that when the young man left his home, the attackers assaulted him with a knife and killed him.
Local officials of the Taliban government in Kandahar have confirmed the incident. They stated that Masoom was stabbed to death by his friends.
The main motive behind the murder remains unclear, and no further details about the perpetrators are currently available. Sources noted that the crime rate has increased in Kandahar province in recent days.
