Fawzia Koofi, Afghan women’s rights activist, responded to the complete internet and telecommunications shutdown in the country by asking Elon Musk to connect Afghan people with Starlink satellite internet service.

She wrote on social media platform X that now is the time for Musk’s wealth and power to serve a humanitarian purpose.

Koofi added that the internet shutdown has deprived millions of citizens from connecting with the world and put families in difficult situations.

Referring to people’s problems, she wrote that reconnecting Afghans to the internet could reduce some of the psychological and social pressure caused by communication cuts.

The Taliban group, on orders from their leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, has cut fiber optic internet to prevent what they call moral corruption.

This action has paralyzed thousands of businesses and online education services.
