The European Parliament announced it will convene on Tuesday, October 6th, to examine the Afghanistan crisis.

European Parliament members will discuss support for Afghan women and addressing the situation of earthquake victims in eastern Afghanistan during this session

. The meeting will be held with the participation of the European Commission and Council.

European Parliament representatives will seek ways to strengthen humanitarian aid and support vulnerable groups, particularly women, against the increasing restrictions imposed by the Taliban group.

The recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, especially in Kunar province, has caused extensive casualties and damage.

According to the Taliban group’s announcement, at least 2,200 people lost their lives in this earthquake.

The European Parliament stated that the group’s hardline policies, particularly severe restrictions against women and ethnic and religious minorities, have prevented international recognition even after four years in power.
