Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Monday rejected Donald Trump’s statements about the Bagram base. Mujahid emphasized Afghanistan’s independence, dismissed claims of Chinese control over Bagram base, and stated that the base remains under Taliban forces’ control.

Responding to claims about reclaiming Bagram base and American weapons, the Taliban spokesman described these demands as mere dreams. He emphasized that these weapons were obtained as war spoils and will be used to defend their Islamic system.

Mujahid warned America that the Taliban is not like Ashraf Ghani’s government that would follow American orders. He characterized Trump’s statements as election propaganda and added that the West cannot forget its defeat in Afghanistan.
