The Organization for the Protection of Afghan Civil Society and Journalists in Exile issued a concerning statement marking the fourth anniversary of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. In this statement published on Thursday, August 14, 2025, the organization expressed concern about human rights violations and particularly the exclusion of Afghan women from social, cultural, and educational spheres.
The organization emphasized that during the four years of Taliban rule, women have suffered the most harm. It also warned that countries engaging with the Taliban are effectively supporting gender apartheid and called on Taliban-supporting countries not to sacrifice the rights of Afghan women for their political interests.
Part of the statement reads: “The continued rule of the Taliban means the destruction of human values. The people of Afghanistan have the right to life and freedom of expression, and these values must be preserved under all circumstances.”
