Abdul Wali Naimi, a former special police unit officer of Afghanistan’s previous government, was arrested and killed by Taliban members about a week after returning from Iran to Kabul.
Samim Naimi, a journalist and Abdul Wali’s brother, announced on Facebook on Monday, September 1st, that his brother was killed in a “field court.”
According to reports, Abdul Wali had been active in Parwan province’s special police unit since 2016 and was stationed in Ghorband district.
He disappeared in Kabul on August 17th and his body was discovered days later with signs of torture and gunshot wounds in Kabul’s 15th security zone.
The former military officer left behind three children aged six, five, and one year old, while his wife is currently pregnant.
