A source in the US Congress stated that the Taliban group has not fulfilled any commitments of the Doha Agreement.
The Taliban’s disregard for forming an inclusive government, respecting human rights, and preventing Afghanistan’s use as a threat base has effectively invalidated this agreement.
The source emphasized that the United States was forced to accept harsh conditions in the Doha Agreement after two decades of war and spending billions of dollars.
However, circumstances have changed and Washington must now act to practically implement this agreement.
He added that America should seriously prioritize reclaiming Bagram base, pressuring the Taliban to establish an inclusive government, and compelling them to respect human rights.
The Taliban group presents this agreement as their legitimacy document, but many of its clauses remain unimplemented.
