Staff members of the Higher Education Ministry and professors living in residential blocks of Kabul Polytechnic University say they have been ordered to immediately vacate six blocks, with their water and electricity cut off.

Retired personnel and current administrative staff live here, claiming that according to approved legislation, 30 percent of apartments were allocated to them.

Mullah Neda Mohammad Nadeem, Taliban’s Higher Education Minister and financial deputy of Kabul Polytechnic University, rejects this and has ordered everyone to evacuate the blocks.

Sources say he refuses to accept any approved legislation or law and pressures residents to leave the blocks at any cost.

Residents say there are no problems for those with connections, but poor officials and those without intermediaries are being driven out of the blocks. Available documents show that water and electricity have been cut off in these blocks.
