Hakim Torsen, brother of political analyst Salim Paygir, has denied reports of his brother’s death and confirmed that Paygir’s health condition is improving at Kabul’s Emergency Hospital.
Paygir was targeted in an armed attack outside his home in Kabul on Thursday, October 8th.
According to reports, two individuals came to visit Paygir under the pretext of returning from Canada and opened fire on him during their farewell.
One of the attackers was detained by neighbors while the second managed to escape from the scene.
Emergency Hospital doctors have assured that Paygir will emerge from his coma within the next 24 hours.
The Taliban group has not commented on this matter so far.
The Taliban Interior Ministry spokesperson described the motive for this attack as personal issues.
