Geo News reported that negotiations between Pakistani and Taliban delegations in Istanbul concluded without reaching an agreement after Islamabad presented its final position.
The Pakistani delegation delivered its ultimate stance in the meeting and demanded that the Taliban take concrete and practical steps to eliminate terrorism.
Security sources stated that the Taliban delegation’s arguments were illogical and disconnected from ground realities.
Islamabad emphasized that no compromise is possible regarding Pakistan’s core demands on terrorism issues, and the Taliban must change their behavior toward terrorist groups.
These talks were held over the past two days in Istanbul and lasted approximately 30 hours according to Pakistani media sources.
Pakistan warned that continuation of dialogue depends on positive behavior and serious cooperation from the Taliban.
Recent tensions have caused the closure of border crossings including Chaman, Khyber, South and North Waziristan.
