Donald Trump, the US President, formally requested Israeli President Isaac Herzog to pardon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding corruption charges in an official letter Trump claimed in his letter that Netanyahu’s cases are “political and unfair”.
The Israeli President’s office stated in a response that Herzog holds great respect for Trump and appreciates his continuous support for Israel However, the statement clarified that anyone seeking a pardon must submit their formal request through established procedures had previously made a similar request during his visit to Israel’s parliament. Speaking to reporters afterward, he said the timing was good for making such a request.
