A group of Afghan refugees with P1 and P2 immigration cases in Pakistan have issued a statement urging the Trump administration to restart their resettlement program.

These refugees say they have lived in extremely harsh conditions and constant fear of deportation in Pakistan for over three years, and the sudden suspension of the program on January 20, 2025, has left them in limbo.

The statement stresses that the recent attack in Washington should not lead to collective punishment of thousands of loyal Afghan allies. They argue that the crime of one individual should not reflect on an entire group and call for justice.

The refugees warn that if forced to return to Afghanistan, they will be identified and killed by the Taliban group for their cooperation with the U.S.

They urge America to honor its commitments and resume the resettlement process as soon as possible.
