Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, is scheduled to visit Washington for the third time this year.
Coinciding with this trip, the arrest of Sultan Aziz Azam, the media officer and spokesman for ISIS, has been officially confirmed with the release of new photos.
Azam, a key figure who joined the group in 2016, was apprehended in May while crossing from Afghanistan into Pakistan.
He was known for his role in preaching and disseminating ISIS propaganda through media channels.
The confirmation of his arrest just before General Munir’s visit to the US highlights ongoing counter-terrorism efforts and may signal a focus on security cooperation between Islamabad and Washington .
