Opposition groups and political parties have condemned the killing of General Ekramuddin Saree in Tehran, labeling it a “terrorist act.” The former police general, who sought refuge in Iran after the Taliban takeover, was killed in a targeted attack that has sparked outrage and concern among Afghan communities.

The Jamiat-e-Islami party and the Resistance Front have called the incident a serious alarm for the safety of former military personnel living abroad.

They urged the Iranian government to conduct a transparent investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice, noting that this is not the first time Afghan security figures have been targeted in neighboring countries.

Prominent figures, including Rahmatullah Nabil and Nasir Ahmad Faiq, described the assassination as an organized crime and warned that silence amounts to complicity.

They highlighted that the systematic elimination of former security forces continues even in exile, calling for immediate accountability and international attention to protect these vulnerable individuals.
