Turkish authorities have arrested 115 individuals suspected of being ISIS members and plotting attacks against non-Muslims during the holiday season.

The widespread operation was launched ahead of Christmas celebrations to prevent potential terrorist acts across the country.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the suspects were planning to target New Year’s gatherings and Christian ceremonies.

Police raided 124 locations, successfully detaining the majority of the identified suspects, while investigations continue to locate any remaining accomplices.

Turkey has intensified its crackdown on ISIS sleeper cells in recent years, frequently reporting arrests of group members.

These preemptive measures highlight ongoing security concerns in the region and the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of citizens and tourists during the year-end holidays.
