Hanif Atmar, former foreign minister and leader of the National Movement for Peace and Justice, called on the Taliban not to miss the historic opportunity for dialogue, following the alignment of three major Afghan political groups.

He stressed that resolving the current crises is only possible through peaceful negotiations and respect for the will and rights of the Afghan people.
In a recent virtual meeting, political leaders including Ahmad Massoud, Atta Mohammad Noor, and Yunus Qanuni emphasized the start of intra-Afghan talks with the support of the UN Security Council and regional countries.

They called for a new constitution, elections, and guaranteed participation of women and youth in Afghanistan’s political future.

Rahmatullah Nabil, former head of national security, welcomed the alignment but warned that political projects must be rooted in the people’s will, not foreign interests. He urged Afghan leaders to show honesty and courage by standing with the people.
