Local sources in Badghis province report that a man has killed his wife and another male in the Bala Murghab district, accusing them of having an illicit affair. The incident took place in Mori Chaq village after the husband returned from a gathering.
The perpetrator has been arrested by Taliban authorities. Such incidents, often categorized as “honor killings,” remain a persistent issue in rural Afghanistan due to deep-rooted social norms.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims. Violence against women in the name of family honor continues to be a grave concern for human rights advocates in the country.
