Several Taliban opposition leaders celebrated Eid al-Fitr one day after the group's official announcement. Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, leader of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, and Mohammad Mohaqiq, leader of the Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan, performed Eid prayers in Ankara on Friday. Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, also congratulated people on Eid in a message.

The Taliban declared Thursday as the first day of Eid, while Saudi Arabia and many Islamic countries announced Friday as Eid. Historically, Eid in Afghanistan was traditionally celebrated mainly based on the calendar and announcement of Saudi Arabia.

This action by opponents demonstrates their disagreement with the Taliban government regarding the Eid date and can symbolize non-acceptance of the group's decisions. #Eid\_al\_Fitr #Afghanistan #Taliban\_Opponents #Ahmad\_Massoud
