Local authorities of the Taliban administration announced that they have publicly flogged six individuals, including two women, in the Qosh Tepa district of Jawzjan province. The charges included insulting government officials and engaging in alleged illegal relations.

According to the official statement released by the administration's court, each accused person received between twenty and thirty-nine lashes. Furthermore, the judicial order mandated that the individuals must serve prison sentences ranging from six months to two years.

This marks the second reported instance in recent months where citizens faced severe physical punishment for allegedly insulting the group's leadership. Previously, a similar incident occurred in Badghis province, where a man was flogged and subsequently jailed.
