Reuters news agency, citing maritime security sources, has reported that at least three container ships were targeted by gunfire near the strategic Strait of Hormuz. One of these large vessels, sailing under the Liberian flag, was directly targeted by a rocket northeast of Oman.
According to the published information, a fast boat belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps rapidly approached the vessel and aggressively opened fire. Despite sustaining considerable damage to its bridge section, all crew members are reportedly safe, and absolutely no environmental pollution occurred.
Furthermore, reports indicate that two other international ships were also actively threatened and fired upon in the same region, though they remained completely undamaged. These concerning attacks have raised fresh global alarms regarding the crucial safety of maritime navigation in this vital waterway.
