Local sources have confirmed that Ahmad Shah Khan Adozai, a prominent and highly respected tribal elder, was killed in Kandahar province. This tragic incident occurred late last night in the Dand district when unidentified armed individuals targeted him directly.
According to initial reports, the attackers infiltrated his residence around midnight and fatally shot him while he was sleeping. Following the brutal assassination, the armed assailants managed to flee the scene swiftly and currently remain at large.
Adozai belonged to the Achakzai tribe and held significant influence among the local population. Targeted killings of tribal elders have noticeably increased in recent weeks, yet Taliban government officials have not released any official statement regarding this specific incident.
