Local sources in Badakhshan province confirm that following increased tensions over gold mining, a newly deployed Taliban military unit comprising one hundred fifty personnel has entered Shiki district. These forces are reportedly equipped with advanced laser weapons.
Fasihuddin Fitrat, the army chief of staff for the Taliban government, has also traveled to Badakhshan province to resolve these internal disputes. Disobedience by local commanders like Juma Fateh has raised serious concerns among officials in Kabul.
Previously, the Taliban director of mines warned local forces not to interfere in mining operations. However, gold extraction in some areas has already been halted, and there is a high possibility of further arrests in the coming days.
