After almost ninety years, Russia formally handed over soil from the graves of Tajikistan's founding fathers, including Nusratullo Maksum, Shirinsho Shotemur, and Nisar Muhammad Yousafzai, to a Tajik delegation. The solemn ceremony took place with high ranking officials present.
These prominent historical figures were executed on political charges in nineteen thirty seven during Joseph Stalin's rule. Their bodies were initially buried in mass graves in Moscow, but they were later fully exonerated after the Soviet leader passed away.
Emomali Rahmon, the President of Tajikistan, officially received the capsules containing the soil of these national heroes. The soil will be transferred to Dushanbe and incorporated into a national monument to honor their vital contributions to the nation.
