Local sources in Herat province have reported that armed thieves boldly entered the Khwaja Mohammad Taki commercial center at night and committed a massive robbery. The perpetrators quickly tied up the security guard and completely destroyed all surveillance cameras.
Reports indicate that the robbers spent several hours inside the large complex, looting valuable assets from at least eight different shops. A significant amount of cash was stolen from this market, which is considered one of the largest wholesale food centers.
Surprisingly, this major commercial hub is located very close to the Taliban administration's police headquarters. The exact total amount of stolen money remains unknown, and local authorities have reportedly started an investigation to catch the unidentified thieves.
