The National Examination Authority of the Taliban government announced that the third round of the Kankor university entrance exams has officially begun in Kabul province. This critical nationwide examination is taking place while young girls remain strictly banned from participating in higher education.

According to the provided statistics, nearly 120,000 male candidates are competing in the university entrance exam this year. The United Nations Children's Fund has strongly warned that continuing to exclude girls from education will have devastating long-term consequences for the future of the entire nation.

UNICEF emphasized that the ongoing ban on women's education will severely worsen the shortage of professionals in the health and education sectors. Furthermore, the massive drop in student enrollment has placed dozens of private universities across Afghanistan at serious risk of permanent closure.
