The Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban government announced the signing of a major contract with a private company to completely reconstruct fifteen kilometers of the South Salang highway. The total value of this crucial contract exceeds one billion and two hundred fifty million Afghanis.
During the signing ceremony, Mohammad Isa Sani, the acting minister, urged the company officials to complete the project according to strict technical standards and within the designated timeframe. The extensive project includes building five new bridges and expanding thirty three culverts.
The Salang Pass serves as one of the most vital transit routes in Afghanistan, connecting the northern and southern provinces. Constructing a six hundred meter water canal is also part of this significant infrastructure development.
