Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar claimed that recent nighttime airstrikes in the Afghan provinces of Paktika, Paktia, and Kunar resulted in the deaths of twenty five militants belonging to the TTP and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. He stated these operations were intelligence-based and targeted terrorist hideouts.

However, the Taliban government has strongly denied these claims. Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated that the Pakistani military targeted civilian homes instead, leading to dozens of casualties among innocent people, including women and children.

Pakistani officials insist the strikes were a necessary response to recent attacks in their country. Meanwhile, the Taliban government continues to maintain that they do not allow any militant groups to use Afghan soil to launch attacks against neighboring nations.
