Author Puja Changoiwala has initiated legal action against Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Netflix, alleging that their film Homebound plagiarized her 2021 novel of the same name.
She is set to file a suit in the Bombay High Court regarding the infringement .
While the film’s team claims the story is based on a New York Times article, Changoiwala states she sent a legal notice prior to the court move. The film, which has been shortlisted for the Oscars, tells the story of two childhood friends .
