An Iranian court has sentenced three Afghan nationals to death for their alleged participation in anti-government protests and setting a police station on fire. The men, who resided in Isfahan, were arrested during demonstrations earlier this year.

According to the Hengaw human rights organization, the detainees spent 40 days in an intelligence facility without access to legal representation or family visits. One of the men is reportedly suffering from severe asthma and has been denied necessary medical treatment.

Executions of Afghan citizens in Iran have seen a sharp increase in recent months, sparking international outrage. Human rights groups continue to raise alarms regarding unfair trials, lack of consular assistance, and the harsh treatment of Afghan migrants.
