Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared in a teaser of an upcoming state television interview that he will not resign and will stand firm. He added that if he ever decided to resign, he would announce it officially.

The denial comes after Mohammad-Bagher Kharrazi, Secretary-General of Iran's Hezbollah party, claimed Pezeshkian had resigned or threatened to resign 28 times. Kharrazi also alleged that Supreme Leader Khamenei had warned he would accept any future resignation.

No official Iranian authority has confirmed these claims. Pezeshkian came to power following the death of Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash and officially began his presidency in August 2024.
