Anti-Taliban fronts say they conducted at least 15 operations across 9 Afghan provinces in the past week, killing around 30 Taliban members. The Freedom Front, National Resistance Front, and United Front have all claimed responsibility for these attacks.
Operations were carried out in Badakhshan, Kunduz, Baghlan, Kabul, Faryab, Ghor, Herat, Kandahar, and Helmand provinces. Analysts say growing public support for opposition forces and declining Taliban social base are key factors behind the surge in attacks.
Taliban have not responded to these claims and continue to assert full security across Afghanistan. Security analyst Bismillah Taban told Afghanistan International that Afghan people are exhausted by current conditions and the Taliban have lost a large portion of their public support base.
