Serbia's Interior Ministry announced that two Afghan nationals and three Turkish citizens were rescued from kidnappers in the capital Belgrade. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
The abduction took place on August 26 on Gavrila Principa Street in Belgrade. The suspects kidnapped five foreign nationals and demanded 30,000 euros for their release. The victims were transported by car to a rural house in the Vladimirci area, where they were subjected to physical and psychological abuse.
The arrested suspects include two Serbian nationals and one citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. All three have been issued 48-hour detention orders and their case files will be forwarded to the relevant prosecutor's office.
