Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met Russian Ambassador Dmitry Zhirnov in Kabul to discuss expanding bilateral relations and security cooperation.
Russia remains the only country to have formally recognized the Taliban administration and has increased diplomatic and military engagement in the past year.
Both sides also reviewed regional developments during the meeting.
