Recent statistics reveal that at least twenty six people, including eleven children and five women, have lost their lives in seven traffic accidents over the past week. Furthermore, approximately forty six other individuals sustained injuries in these devastating incidents across different regions.

These deadly accidents occurred in the provinces of Laghman, Ghazni, Farah, and Jawzjan, along with one incident in Semnan, Iran. The most severe crash took place in Laghman province, claiming eighteen lives and leaving thirty five injured. Six Afghan citizens also tragically died in the crash in Iran.

The Taliban government previously stated that over eighty traffic accidents were recorded just during the Eid al Adha holidays. Reckless driving, excessive speeding, and a general disregard for traffic laws remain the primary causes of these fatal crashes, which continue to claim lives daily across the country.
