The United Front of Afghanistan, an anti-Taliban armed opposition group, has claimed it killed a member of the Taliban police force during an operation in Kandahar province. The group stated that the attack took place on Friday, October 1, in the Sarband area of Arghandab district.

The front announced its claim via a statement and a video posted on the social media platform X. However, the released video does not show the attack itself or the body of the deceased individual, and further details about how the incident unfolded were not provided.

Taliban government officials have not yet commented on the United Front's claim. The group has previously released videos of its attacks, some of which have shown the bodies of Taliban members.

The United Front, led by former Afghan army commander Sami Sadat, claims to be organizing extensive military activities against the Taliban. According to the front's claims, its forces have conducted 68 operations in 19 provinces over the past two months.

The group further claims that these operations have resulted in the deaths of 102 Taliban members and the injury of 45 others. Most of the claimed attacks have been concentrated in Afghanistan's southern provinces, particularly Kandahar and Helmand.

The United Front of Afghanistan announced on August 1 of this year that it had commenced military operations against "the Taliban and other terrorist groups" in Afghanistan.
