Pakistani state media reported on Wednesday, October 7, that the country's security forces killed 18 militants in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.

According to the reports, one operation was conducted in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the deaths of 13 individuals. The Pakistani government identified these individuals as members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and stated they were involved in terrorist activities.

The second operation took place in the Mastung district of Balochistan province. In this operation, five other militants were killed. Pakistani officials announced that a quantity of heavy weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants' hideout.

These operations come as militant attacks on Pakistani security forces have increased in recent months. The Pakistani army and police are continuously conducting counter-terrorism operations in these regions.

Officials added that search operations to find other members of these groups are ongoing in both areas.

Separately, Pakistani police announced that a militant attack on a police post in the Shadipur area of Kohat, also in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was successfully repelled by security forces.
