Mohammad Hanif Atmar, the former Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, has sharply criticized the policies of Pakistan's military leadership, stating that their continuation could further increase political instability in Pakistan and the region.

In a statement, Mr. Atmar said that the Pakistani military administration's efforts to shrink provincial structures, imprison elected political leaders, and attempts to topple the elected government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are deepening the country's political crisis.

He warned that such measures will not solve the economic problems or the issues of militancy, insurgency, and violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Instead, he said, they risk escalating military and political tensions with Afghanistan and increasing tensions with India.

According to Atmar, the Pakistani military leadership's attempts to gain more power and control come at the expense of the fundamental rights and freedoms of the country's people. He stressed that suppressing one's own people can never be the path to lasting stability, security, and prosperity.

The former Afghan foreign minister also declared his solidarity with the people facing oppression on both sides of the Durand Line and emphasized his commitment to protecting their human rights and human dignity.

These remarks come amid growing concerns about the political situation in Pakistan and its impact on regional security, particularly in Afghanistan.
