Qatari mediators have presented a new draft agreement to Tehran in an effort to end the ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel. An official familiar with the negotiations told Reuters that Iran is expected to respond to the proposal by the end of this week.

According to the report, the new draft outlines a seven-day timeline to address the concerns of both sides. It includes a series of daily confidence-building measures that both Tehran and Washington would be required to undertake. The official added that implementation could begin as early as next week.

Several countries are expected to act as guarantors for the agreement. Qatar, along with Pakistan, has been leading mediation efforts to end the conflict that erupted in Feuary between Iran on one side and the US and Israel on the other. The hostilities have severely disrupted global shipping and oil supplies.

The source also noted that prior to a meeting in Tehran on Sunday, there were concerns that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might launch new attacks against Iran this week. Concurrently, US President Donald Trump has reiterated his threats against Tehran.

In response, Iranian security officials have reportedly told Reuters that Tehran has prepared detailed plans to attack submarine cables in the Persian Gulf if hostilities resume. This highlights the fragile nature of the situation and the importance of diplomatic efforts.

Previous mediation efforts led to a temporary peace agreement in June, but it quickly collapsed due to disagreements over the Strait of Hormuz.
