The Taliban's Ministry of Interior has announced the installation of dozens of CCTV cameras in Gardez, the capital of Paktia province.

According to the ministry, the use of these cameras officially began on Thursday during a ceremony attended by local Taliban officials.

Taliban officials described the installation of the cameras as an important step towards ensuring security and preventing potential security and criminal incidents. They also called on the residents of Gardez to cooperate with their forces in maintaining security.

Previously, the Taliban government had installed thousands of CCTV cameras in various cities across Afghanistan, including the capital, Kabul, to increase surveillance.

However, despite the claims of improving security, there are widespread concerns among citizens regarding the violation of privacy by the Taliban through these surveillance measures.
