In scathing remarks against the Taliban leadership, Abdul Hamid Khorasani, a former commander of the Taliban’s Badri unit, accused them of ethnic favoritism and discrimination. Khorasani said that “martyrdom” is more valuable to him than being a slave to an ignorant group that is an enemy of Islam.

He emphasized that the Taliban’s religion is not Islam, but the ignorance of an ignorant Pashtun group. According to Khorasani, the behavior and treatment of Pashtun members of the Taliban leadership towards non-Pashtun Taliban and other people is like the treatment of prisoners of war, viewing them all as their slaves and servants.

The former Taliban commander stated that power is monopolized by a specific circle and the Taliban do not even give the value of an animal to the people, especially women. He added that the Taliban’s statements in the media are just throwing dust in people’s eyes, while in private they mock and humiliate the people.

Khorasani warned that this “foolish mindset” will lead to the destruction of the “Pashtun Emirate”. His remarks highlight deep ethnic divides and internal disputes within the Taliban.
