The International Court of Justice, affiliated to the United Nations, has ruled that Israel must take all necessary measures to prevent actions related to “genocide in Gaza”.

However, the court did not issue an order to immediately stop the military operations of this country. In the judgment of the judges of the International Court of Justice, Israel is asked to do everything in its power to prevent the genocide in Gaza, as well as to immediately provide the ground for sending more humanitarian aid to this area, and to prevent and punish the direct incitement of the genocide during conflict action. Also, Israel has been asked to submit a report to the court within one month of issuing this order.

Today’s meeting of the Supreme Court of the United Nations is part of the hearing of the “genocide” case filed by South Africa against Israel, which has accused this country of committing genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza war. This court confirmed the jurisdiction of this case.

Israel strongly rejected all the accusations and called it “baseless”. It seems that Tel Aviv will ignore the order of the judges of the Hague Court because this court does not have the means to implement its decisions. It will probably take several years for the International Court of Justice to issue its final verdict on this case.

South Africa welcomed the court ruling and called it a decisive victory for the international rule of law and an important achievement in the search for justice for the Palestinians. In Israel, Itamar Ben Goyer, the country’s security minister, rejected this ruling and described the International Court of Justice as an anti-Semitic court that is trying to persecute Jews.

The court also expressed deep concern about the situation of the Israeli hostages who are in the captivity of the Hamas group.
