Local sources report that unidentified armed men attacked a convoy of Hajj pilgrims traveling through the Manogi district of Kunar province. The group of pilgrims was journeying from Nuristan towards Jalalabad and Kabul when their vehicles were unexpectedly intercepted by the gunmen.
After halting the convoy, the attackers aggressively looted the travelers, stealing all their valuable belongings and money at gunpoint. During the terrifying ordeal, several pilgrims and their accompanying family members, including young children, were severely beaten and required immediate medical treatment.
Outraged local residents have described the incident as completely shocking and urged the current administration to arrest the perpetrators immediately. Local authorities have officially confirmed the attack and stated that a preliminary investigation is actively underway to track down the robbers.
