Canadian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jason Kong says that the country’s government has rejected the Taliban’s attempt to take control of the Afghan embassy and consulate in Canada.

The National Post, citing Gong, reported that the Canadian government led by Justin Trudeau did not even respond to the Taliban’s letter two years ago in this regard.

Meanwhile, Marilyn Gouvermont, another Canadian foreign ministry official, said that the country does not recognize the Taliban regime and will never do so.

It should be mentioned that after the fall of the republican system and the domination of the Taliban, the Afghan representations in Canada are managed by former diplomats.

One of these diplomats, who refused to reveal his identity, told Canadian newspapers that due to lack of funds, the embassy was forced to reduce its staff.

He clarified that the Afghan embassy in Ottawa did not request financial assistance from the Taliban.
