About a week after Washington imposed at least 500 new sanctions on Russian individuals and companies, Tokyo, in a similar action, sanctioned at least 36 companies and 12 individuals related to Russia.
Tas news agency has published this news citing the statement of the Japanese government cabinet.
According to this statement, Kalashnikov, Almaz-Anti and Uralvagenzawood companies are among the companies that were blacklisted by Japan.
Kalashnikov and Almaz-Anti are the two largest Russian arms-military companies.
Irina Agiva, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Kaluga Region, Irina Cherkaso, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in Rostov Region, Mansur Soltayev, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chechen Republic, Moslem Khuchiev, Head of the Government of the Chechen Republic, and Zamid Chalayev, one of the special police commanders of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in The Chechen Republic are people who were sanctioned by Tokyo.
Sanctions include ban on travel, economic transactions and confiscation of assets of these individuals and companies.
