Giving the International Brave Women Award of the US State Department to Banafsheh Yacoubi

The International Women of Courage Award of the US State Department was awarded to Banafsheh Yaqoubi, a former member of the Afghan Human Rights Commission, and 13 other women.This award was presented to these women by Anthony Blinken, the Secretary of State of the United States of America, and Jill Biden, Joe Biden’s wife, at the White House.However, the participants of the meeting said that there should be a fight against violence, gender and sexual harassment, and attention should be paid to the education of women and girls.Meanwhile, the US State Department said on Friday last week that Yacoubi has worked for years as a lawyer defending the rights of women who have faced violence.The International Courageous Women Award of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been awarded since 2016 to women who have shown exceptional courage, strength and leadership in defense of peace, justice, human rights, gender equality and empowerment of women and girls.​
