Issuance of an order to stop the war in Rafah by the International Criminal Court
The International Criminal Court (ICC) ordered Israel to stop its military operations in Rafah. This order was issued following South Africa’s request to accuse Israel of genocide of the Palestinian people.
Although Israel is unlikely to comply with the order, this historic ruling will put a lot of pressure on the United States in relation to Israel. An Israeli official told ABC News that his country will not accept this sentence.
This order is issued while Karim Khan, the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, previously demanded the arrest of the leaders of Israel and Hamas on charges of war crimes. Israel’s military operation in Rafah has displaced more than a million Palestinian refugees to northern Gaza, where a severe humanitarian crisis is ongoing.
