Protests intensified in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces on Tuesday, August 1st, following the interference of Pakistani security forces in peaceful gatherings and military operations.
In the port city of Gwadar, Balochistan, protesters including members of the Baloch Unity Committee took to the streets against the intervention of security forces in their peaceful protests. The Balochistan Lawyers Association also demonstrated in Quetta and other cities of the province in protest.
A public meeting was scheduled to be held on July 29 in Gwadar, but it could not take place due to the interference of Pakistani security forces and the closure of roads, which led to the start of protests.
Meanwhile, the Bajaur region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province also witnessed protests against the military operations of the Pakistani army. Protesters demanded an immediate end to military operations and the reopening of the communication route with Afghanistan.
