Netanyahu: War Not Over Despite Sinwar’s Death

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has stated that despite the death of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, the war is not yet over. On Thursday, October 17, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is committed to continuing the war until all hostages are returned home.

Israel has described Sinwar as the mastermind behind the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. In response, Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, and Joe Biden, the President of the United States, have also reacted. Macron has called for the release of the hostages, and Biden has described Sinwar’s death as “a good day for Israel, Washington, and the entire world.”

Yoav Gallant, Israel’s Defense Minister, has also warned Hamas forces that it is time to release the hostages and surrender. However, Hamas has yet to respond to these developments.
