US Embassy Celebrates World Science Day, Highlighting Afghan Students’ Resilience
The US Embassy for Afghanistan commemorated World Science Day by acknowledging Afghan students’ continued progress in health, education, and development, despite facing numerous challenges. The embassy, currently based in Doha, emphasized the crucial role of science and scientists in shaping Afghanistan’s future.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, November 10, the embassy called for continued support of scientists, students, and innovators, stating that “science is the key to peace and prosperity.”
Currently, Afghanistan remains the only country in the world where girls above grade six are banned from attending school, a situation that has persisted for over three years. Despite these restrictions, Afghan students, particularly women, continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience.
