Local sources in Panjshir told a reporter from Zarin TV Network that the Taliban group detained at least 15 residents of Annaba district two days ago.
All those arrested are from the same area, with two being former soldiers and the rest civilians.
Sources say the Taliban staged these arrests in hopes of finding leads on Haseeb Panjshiri, a commander of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan.
However, it’s reported that the detainees have no knowledge of how to use weapons.
The Taliban have not commented on the incident. Over the past three years, the group has repeatedly detained and tortured people across the country.
